Welcome!

This blog post was written to help you get the most out of your experience using AssistList’s platform to sell or donate your equipment.

Before we get started, here is a handy video on how to list your home health medical equipment on AssistList. This video will provide you with a step-by-step instruction on how to create an equipment listing on AssistList!

Feel free to pause and watch the video before continuing, or keep reading this post for some helpful hints on how to get the most out of your equipment listing!

  1. Photos! Photos! Photos!

Providing clear photos of the home health equipment you are hoping to sell or donate is an effective strategy. Consider providing different angled shots of your equipment as well! This will help the consumer to gain a better understanding of the different features, design, and condition of your equipment.

2. Describe Your Product

When you make an equipment listing on AssistList, you will be asked to describe the equipment you would like to post. This is your chance to talk about your product! If you can, make sure to use this space as it is likely that your post will receive more interest.

If you are unsure on what to include in the description, here are some pointers to help you out:

  • Include as much information about the brand or model of equipment you are listing as some folks may be looking for a specific type of home health equipment. If possible, you can also consider providing a website link of the product from the company you purchased from!
  • If any, what has been your or a loved one’s experience with the product itself?
  • How long have you or a loved one used this equipment for?
  • Would you be able to provide any other information with the product? For example, if you are listing a mobility scooter, are you able to comment on the battery life? What about the conditions of the tires?
  • If there are any, what would be included with the equipment? For example, would you be able to pass on the Owner’s Manual for a power wheelchair to an interested buyer?

3. Imagine Yourself as the Buyer

A good rule of thumb is to imagine yourself to be in the shoes of a buyer! What would be some information that would help you make a decision about whether an equipment would be suitable for you?

A great feature about AssistList is that if somebody is interested in your equipment, they are able to contact you through our website! You will receive an email from AssistList that includes their email and their message. We encourage you to not post personal information as part of your listing, and to share only what you are comfortable with sharing!

For more information on how to sell or donate your items on AssistList, such as what items you can list on this platform, check out our FAQ section on Buying and Selling!

Thank you for reading! If the medical device you are listing has helped you or your loved one improve their quality of life, it will certainly help someone else as well :)

Cheers,

Buffy
